Kookie Riding Crop

I don’t often get a chance to review a more BDSM geared toy from Babeland.com…but this time I do **smiles**

Let me tell you about the newest crop added to their roster: the Kookie Riding Crop.

Now I have my share of crops already and yes they can in some cases give a different tempo, a feel, a sting, etc. So I thought adding one to my collection will not hurt. But it also means because I have a small collection I can give a more experienced assesment of it. And I have to say this is a very basic, beginner crop. So for me…since I definitely already have a favorite, this one won’t get used much. But keep in mind I do a lot of BDSM play. It does not mean its a crop an newly experiencing couple may not enjoy at all, on the contrary.

I have seen much, much flimsier ones in sex shops for twice as much as the one here on Babeland. I did go ahead in my toy chest and comapre this Kookie Riding Crop to some of mine and after close inspection I realize I already own one from the same manufacturer. I could tell easy enough from the type of handle, the weave of the core and the way the tip is attached. The one I already had I purchased in a tack and saddle shop. This means the Kookie Riding Crop is indeed a real crop and not one made cheaply for sex play. That is a very good thing.

So why is this crop not for me? Well I do not like the handle as I find it to thin to grip properly and its not a quality I enjoy…it just does not feel right in my hands. And the second reason I don’t see this an ideal crop for me is on the other end, the leather tip. My favorite crop has a short yet wide tip made of really thick and stiff leather. This tip is much thinner. The idea of a crop is to hit with the flexible portion of the tip and because this one bends easily I am not going to get the impact I want. OK keep in mind I am a sadist and I like to hit hard and leave marks if I can. So my stiff and thick leather one is no match to this crop.

Come to think of it I could use the Kookie Riding Crop as a warm up crop for teasing. And like I said it good for a beginner. One piece of advise…practise, practice, practice. It takes a bit of getting used to before you hit accurately and with just the flexible part of the tip!
