Thank you to the lovely people at TheirToys.com Sex Toys who sent me this toy for free in exchange for an honest review. It is my first time working with them and so far they are fabulous. Hopefully it is the beginning of a great team effort.
I received a really interesting product from them called Pink Unity Hybrid Silicone. I do not do lube reviews very often because I kind of stick to my reliable faves but this one really had me quite intrigued. Made by Empowered Products, the Pink lube line is quite extensive and aimed towards women. There are 5 different lubes to choose from: silicone, water, water for toys, water warming and the now being review hybrid silicone. Now only is the packaging and name of the line aimed at women but it truly was designed WELL for women as all the lubes are glycerin and paraben free. Why is it a good thing? Well glycerin can promote yeast infection and paraben studies have suggested (not proven) that there may be a link with breast cancer.
Now you are wondering why I was so intrigued by the Pink Unity Hybrid Silicone? This lube claims on the edge of revolutionary leading-edge technology where silicone molecules have been merged with water to create a lubricant that easily washes out of materials and does not stain. First question that comes to mind is WHY? I have not a advocate for silicone lube in the first place except perhaps for those who enjoy it anally if they truly have not found a water based one that works. But is this truly a newest WOW factor of the lube empire?
I agree with its claims that it does not stain and is easy to wash. Normally silicone is icky until you get some heavy soap and water action. I do have to admit the clean up portion of this lube was a lot easier then normal. Now you still need some soap or water but it will wash a way a lot easier. Just rinsing with water however will not cut it. It also does not stain and there is not unpleasant odor. I would not recommend it for oral though as it has a bitter taste. I also really like the bottellin which is comes with a pump head instead of the standard squeeze bottle.
But does it deliver on the job? Unfortunately I say Nay. It just might be the most unpleasant lube I have ever used. Yes it is great because it comes out in a gel formula but I found within seconds of applying it became a very thin viscous substance. I need several pumps to get a vibe properly lubed up so for sure the bottle will get empty pretty quick. I started with a bit of manual clit stimulation and within minutes I felt it dry up and had to reapply. As far as penetration I could not get that slippery come hither feel when entering a vibrator. Again within minutes I felt I need to reapply.
Now my biggest problem with the Pink Unity Hybrid Silicone is the fact that it remains a silicone product and nowhere – and I mean nowhere on the bottle, the company’s website or online in general – does it say you still should not use this lube with toys as silicone and have chemical reaction and make your toys melt, let alone get toxic chemicals in your body. With a toy you should put a condom on.
The final test was to leave it standing a bit after use. Would it be slick after a bit of air time? Nope, totally dry. This is clearly not a lube I will try again. I would be happy to try a water based Pink Lube, but not this claimed new technology formula. There are so many better Lubes, Potions & Lotions out on the market for you to try. Here are a few I recommend:
- Anything from ID lube is fab.
- Maximus to me is a water based version of what silicone feels like, awesome for anal.

I’m sad to hear that this lube isn’t all that wonderful.
