Judging and Making Sex Enemies 101
So this email is totally written in the heat of anger….and no I won’t regret it later.
.
I was ‘handpicked’ a few weeks back to be part of a joint effort blog site. For weeks I have been involved and receiving emails, participating in getting my spot ready in this conglomerate. The site launched last week, started posting, got comments and great reception of the public…all is wonderful.
.
UNTIL I get the following email which I am including here. I am leaving out the name of the site and the signature of whom sent it. Why? 2 reasons. That part I would regret and these days bad publicity is still publicity and I will do nothing to encourage visits to that site. But let me say the people behind it are ‘professional sex writers’ which I think makes it absolutely pathetic and unprofessional on their part…cause only they can make money off of it apparently. Of course this mail I got was in BBC so I know many other people got it too. Here is the email:
.
I should have done a much better job of thinking through the requirements for joining my project. For that, I apologize, whole-heartedly. I’m emailing you personally and privately off the list. I’ve had to come up with some guidelines for being a part of XXXXXXXXXXX because of the demand from sex bloggers who would like to join.
.
One of those criteria is that you have a well-established blog that is not part of a commercial site. Because your blog is seen by the community as a whole as an an adjunct to your commercial ventures, it no longer fits the guidelines and requirements that are being put into place.
.
This creates some problems for me with the other bloggers who are being held to that standard. Therefore, I’m privately asking a few individuals to gracefully bow out of the project and re-apply after you are better established.
.
I enjoy your writing, and I will still be linking to you from my own personal sites, but at this time, I would ask that you resign, so to speak, from the project.
.
As far as what you have already posted, please let me know if you’d like me to leave them there as they are or remove them for you.
I can do either one.
.
My jaw hit the fucking ground. I was livid. I can’t believe how unprofessional. No kidding you should have thought things through better at first. Of course by the time I checked that blog my name was gone. And its not just me. I know this email was received by several acquaintances…..including my good friend’s blog The Enigmatic Angel. God forbid she added a tiny Amazon plug-in way at the bottom of her page. Now how many won’t ready her amazing kinky poetry.
.
Yes my blog is about my experiences as a Mistress incorporating it in my life, about my subs or friends I play with, my kinky family friends, my crafted play toys, the many parties I attend and my presence in the local BDSM community. Yes my blog is part of my official website which also has one section offering pro-Domme sessions. Yes I link my blog and talk occasionally about my sex toy website. Its MY company that I am building…not just an affiliate code, its part of MY life, my blog is about discussing that sex/kink/pro/business/personal lifestyle part of MY life…..like having dinner with intimate friends and Midori…yes I said Midori…next blog). What the hell is wrong with that? I also think I got this email because I was judged to not have enough daily hits.
.
So I am saying now I want to start a same project myself regrouping BDSM blogs. I will not judge how many visitors you get, how many occasional link to an affiliate site, if you discuss pro-domme stuff. As long as your blog is entertaining, smart and positive towards BDSM you are in. Want to join? Email me through the contact me page of my sit. I am dead serious about this. I bought a domain name a while back and have not used it yet, it fits perfectly. Come and join the family now for the future site www.kinkysexlink.com (not operational at this time

Well, I have to admit you’re being ousted from that particular website is rather surprising, my friend.
If the main objection was being you mention being a Pro-Domme and your online sextoy store on your Lady Evyl blog and website.
Fact is, that site has a section completely devoted to sex toy reviews.
And the traffic generated from those reviews goes to making money through affiliate links, for the individuals who post their reviews.
So, yes the site is somewhat about generating money.
Food for thought.

Thank you Angel for the comment.
And I also find out that this organizer is herself a pro-domme and her personal blogs are LOADED with affiliate and money making schemes…humm, how interesting.
I also sent an email to her saying, very briefly, how I felt about this news she sent….of course I got zero response back.

Well, I did hear back from the organizer herself, as things turned out.
She did apologize to me for perhaps wasting people’s time and for not thinking things through, from the start.
Well, my thoughts on my being removed from that site are on my own Enigmatic Angel blog.
Anyone can feel free to read it.

Yes, it was an interesting experience, wasn’t it? Here’s my account of how it went down for me.
