Eco Sex and Green BDSM

.
A friend of mine recently sent me an article concerning eco-friendly sex. Which led me to think is there such a thing as eco-friendly BDSM? So I searched the net for answers and solutions. Well let me tell you there was not a whole lot out there. But I did find a few gems:
.
Vegan condoms: yep…did you know regular condoms are not vegan? A milk protein called Casein is typically used in the manufacturing of latex for condoms. Does that mean its bad for those lactose intolerant too? Well fear not there is a solution. At this time there are two latex condoms on the market that don’t use casein in the manufacturing process: Glyde Condoms and Condomi. They are made with cocoa powder in place of milk protein.
.
Sex Toys: A study in 2000 by German chemist Hans Ulrich Krieg found that 10 dangerous chemicals gassed out of some sex toys available in Europe, including diethylhexyl phthalates. Other studies on rats and mice claim that exposure of these toxic chemicals could cause cancer and damage the reproductive system. Also many popular erotic toys are made of polyvinyl chlorides (PVC) and softened with phthalates. These include soft jelly and cyberskin toys and novelties.
.

.
So what are the eco-alternatives for green-conscious pleasure-seekers? The most ecologically correct choices may be metal, hard plastics, pure medical grade silicone, or glass dildos. Toys made of Polyethylene are a good choice to. Polyethylene is a plastic so although it is not biodegradable it can be recycled. VixSkin is a new silicone substitute and PVC can be replaced with thermoplastic elastomers.
.
There are a few solar powered vibration toys that do not require batteries: the Solar Vibe, the Solar Sensations Micro-Kitty Strap-On, and the Solar Sensations 3 Piece Kit.
.
Bits and pieces: you can purchase hemp sheets, organic massage oils, edibles, and beeswax candles or candles made from hydrogenated soybean oil or palm oil for atmosphere. Finally,  dimming the lights is a suave maneuver to lower kilowatt consumption.
.
BDSM toys:Toys made of metal, nylon cord, rattan, Lorica (synthetic leather) and recycled rubber are a popular choice. Non vegans can choose leather. Here are some BDSM ecological toys:
.
- Vegan Erotica is a webstore specialized in vegan BDSM toys.

- Bondage Duckie, yes this bad bathtub duckie is eco-friendly

- BadAss Paddles are no longer made but maybe you can find one second-hand. They are made from the scrap left over from the end of the roll of tire making companies.

- Dildo harnesses made from 100% recycled rubber

- I found a company that makes 100% vegan bondage toys. Its called Fresh and the products are very colorful and made from polyethylen.

- Wax play…well I mentioned above beeswax candles or candles made from hydrogenated soybean oil or palm oil. The thing is beeswax has a high temperature so its not a beginner’s candle play choice, its for the pain sluts only. The temperature for hydrogenated soybean oil or palm oil candles would be classified as moderate. If you want to try hold the candle way up so the wax has time to cool before hitting the body.
.
Happy ecological sessions!

The scary big M word

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Now, now…no I am not talking about that one. No not the Marriage one. I am talking about Menstruation…and sex.

Ok if you are freaked out already stop reading this particular blog and move to the next. If you are curious or turned on…keep reading.

So I decided to google the topic and get informed. Boy was I disappointed. There is no positive textual work out there about it. You have the medical ‘Is it safe” sites and then menstruation fetish picture sites. NOTHING in btw. There was one site that said they used to have a good article but it was removed by the web owner gods of that site.

So why is this so taboo? Its nature, its natural and it is absolutely safe to have sex during a period. Actually I think its maybe better. God knows I get SO HORNY just before and at the beginning of my period. I get so wet. Plus its great for relieving cramps. And there is nothing dirty about menstrual blood. You won’t get poisoned by it. There is no risk at exposing yourself to the blood…unless the woman has a blood transmitted std and you have an open wound. So put on the condom like you would anyways and place a dark towel under the bed.

If you have a menstruation fetish PLEASE email me I would love to get a guy’s perspective on it.

Power to sex on the rag! Have a great week-end.

Kinks and the dollar store

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

You need a little spice in your life? Wanna try something kinky, a little bondage, a little spanking? I now have a couple of regulars, now that a trust has been built, that tare wanting to try things a bit more out of the ordinary. Well I went to see how much this new ‘equipment’ may cost in a sex shop…FREAKING A LOT. So I decided to go check out the dollar store for substitutes and I hit the jackpot. Here are suggestions:

  • Big collar for your slave: try the animal section. I found a big fake red leather dog collar perfect for a human neck.
  • Restraints: a scarf or cut up pantyhose will do nicely.
  • Handcuffs: toy section, yep, the cowboy kits. Sex shop ones are not under $20.
  • Underwear to rip: I found nice thongs that can be destroyed.
  • Feathers: arts and craft section.
  • Nipple clamps: try clothes pins.
  • Tingly sensation creams: tiger balm.
  • Sex game: get a pack of cards, write a sex position in them and have your partner pick a card.
  • Spanking paddle: kitchen section, choose a flat wood spatula to your liking.
  • Costumes: Again, the toy section. Get a cops and robbers kits, cowboy and Indian, princess crowns, Hawaiian costume.

There are so many possibilities. Just go to your dollar store with a very creative mind and you will be surprised as to what can be metamorphosed into a kinky toy.

Let your imagination run wild.

Tip of the day

Ever wanted to try light bondage but only one problem. You have nowhere on the bed to tie up your partner. Here is a great idea:

Visit your local hardware store and get standard-issue drawer pulls and screw them in strategic locations. You could even put them on the side of the bed and the bottom. It’s practical, cheap, and you can move them around if you’ve chosen bad spots.

Shaving your Male Genitals

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Never did it before? Here is a guide to help you out. Even better let me do it for you during our meeting? ;-)
.
Want another good reason to shave your hot throbbing area, especially the shaft? It creates the visual effect of an extra inch or two. A good tip: it should be easier to shave while the penis is erected.
.

  1. Carefully trim pubic area with small scissors. Cut as close to the body as you safely can. Pubic hair is curly so you want to carefully pull it a bit to cut it.
  2. Take a hot shower or bath for 10 minutes, this will loosen the skin.
  3. Lather the area with shaving cream intended for sensitive skin.
  4. Using a new 3 or 4 bladed razor, shave each area using short very light strokes.
  5. Pulling the penis downward shave from the top of the penis upward to the navel. Most of the hair growing between the penis and the stomach grow downward. The idea is to always shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth, at each step.
  6. Holding the penis to the side, shave inwards in the sides of it and in the sides of the scrotum.
  7. Holding the penis upward, shave downwards carefully from the penis to the lower part of the scrotum.
  8. Shave the penis shaft by starting at the hair line and work your way in single strokes to the base of your penis.
  9. The scrotum is extremely easier to shave if the skin is extended. The scrotum should be shaved from the middle front part of it, to the sides, with extreme care.
  10. Rinse off and wash area using mild soap.
  11. If you do not shave often or this is your first time, use some antiseptic cream to counteract skin irritations and pimples, or apply a moisturizer.

Great resource

I wanted to do something a bit smarter, a bit sharper. Sure I will regale you at times with naughty stories. But I also want you to read me for education, reflection, and comprehension. And I have to say I had a great influence on how to base my written work.
.
A while back a colleague of mine shared a favourite podcast series with me. I loved it and devoured it. It is called Open Source Sex with Violet Blue. I have not checked in months if there were any new podcasts, but at last count she had done over 50. She is a porn movie critique, a writer and editor of erotica, and a sex educator. Now I don’t know if she is a licensed sex educator…but she is fantastic. Her podcast is not aimed at a sex starved listener, but rather at an intelligent and curious listener. She does not dumb things down, she is not shy about any topic, her podcasts are both educational and titillating. I strongly suggest you check her out. She also has a great website www.tinynibbles.com. She has truly been an amazing source of inspiration. Thank you Violet.

Should I or shouldn’t I

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Anyone who has done this work, or is thinking about trying it out, knows you’ve got to find vital signs that a potential client is a good choice. Here are the tips I have learned so far:

  • Is he showing me respect? He has to show an interest in me, my feelings, my requests.
  • Is he avoiding questions I ask, being too elusive, not giving me enough info to make me comfortable.
  • Will he meet first in a public place and allow me to make a final decision at that time.
  • Does he know my boundaries and agreed to them.
  • Ask what his expectations are, are you comfortable with what he wants.
  • Is he comfortable with the donation for my time. If he is trying too much to negotiate forget it.
  • Is he attached or single? Are you ok about meeting with a married man.
  • Does he agree to use a condom should things become intimate.
  • When you ask for a picture he sends one of his face…not his dick. I mean for crying out loud you think I will pick you from the size of you dick. Hello?
  • Do you see yourself having a good time with him? If it feels like a chore, forget it.

If you answer positively to all the above questions, then chances are you are making a good decision to meet him. But remember, always remain on guard. Discuss and agree on everything before meeting. Trust your gut.

To use a condom correctly

Monday, August 27th, 2007

1) Check the expiry date on the package of the condom. If the expiry date has passed, throw it out!
2) Check to see if there is air in the condom package. If there is no aire, there is a good chance that the condom is damaged. Throw it out and take another one.
Open the package with care, from the the middle. Do not use your teeth or scissors to open it.
3) Take the condom by the tip (closed tip). Ensure that it is on the right side: the edge to unroll needs to be on the outside.
4) You can put one or two drops of lubricant on the inside of the condom, that will make it more comfortable and increase your sensation.
5) Pinch the closed tip of the condom to let out any air before unrolling the condom on the penis. This step is very important and often neglected. If you don’t do this it can often cause a break in the condom. If there is air that stays in the tip of the condom, the condom can burst.
6) I f you are not circumcised, pull back the skin that covers the head of the penis until the penis head is well exposed. Put the condom on the head of the penis, while still pinching the tip of the condom, and slowly unroll the condom to the base of the penis.
7) Put the condom on the head of the penis, while still pinching the tip of the condom, and slowly unroll the condom to the base of the penis.
8) If you think you have done it wrong, take the condom off and start with a fresh and new one.
9) Use water-based lubricant on the outside of the condom for vaginal and anal penetration. This will cause the friction and reduce the risk of the condom breaking. And it feels really good!
10) After having ejaculated, pull out immediately (slowly). Take the condom from the base of the penis (the round side) while pulling out to ensure that it doesn’t fall off in your partner’s vagina or anus. And pay attention so that nothing spills out while you are taking it off !
.
Do not keep condoms in your pockets, your wallet or other places where there is risk of movement or heat exposure that may result in damage
.
Never use a defective condom!
.
Never use a condom twice!
