Although I have been considering this for some time and have discussed with a select group of people, this does remain my first public announcement of my project in works. I am planning on offering private workshops for small groups.

This past year has been a very educational year for me in the BDSM scene. Of course as any good Master or Mistress I keep up to date and try to learn, but what I mean is this year I started giving public workshops and demos. I was asked to give some of these and they were all a  success. I also really enjoy the experience of teaching and learning from others.

.

However what I did not like for the Montreal aspect of these classes is that they were very unstructured, sort of throw last minute and irregular.Why is it the case? Well one reason I think is the up-swing fashionable Fetish scene has been overtaking the BDSM scene. True BDSM locals have become sparse and few or less accessible without a car. I know I am rambling now, sorry, its a bit of chip on my shoulder.

Now I am not alone in offering workshops in Montreal at all, there are a few great teachers in Montreal. But there is no structure or local for it. This I find beyond frustrating. Also these were all without remuneration. Now I am not saying I want to make a huge amount of cash from it, but preparing a workshop is a lot of work and I do believe a small compensation is a minimum. Its a service like anything else.

So as mentioned I am working on offering workshops to small groups in a private home. I don’t want to rent a space out to kep costs low and it’s more fun with a small group as there is more interaction. So stay tuned for announcements of a first workshop soon!

Two weeks ago today I was at my host’s house in Raleigh North Carolina. I had been invited by Melequus to her home and city and local dungeon for a cell popping workshop. It was quite an honor and a pleasure to be there. Honestly so much happened in my 4 days there I am not sure where to start, what to talk about or in which order. So bare with me in this blog…just go with the flow!

Melequus lives in Cary county in a very cute and quaint country house with lots of land and a stable for 2 horses and is rented out! I had my own lovely room on the 2nd flour with a balcony. I am a city gal so for me this was completely different and I was gaga over the horse. This is horse country! Horses everywhere. In Quebec farm lands have mostly cows. Friday was leisurely and we drove around a bit in the town of Chapel Hill which is super cute actually. Its got a big university so it had lots of hip coffee shops and bars and all.

Danger was in the air though as soon as I arrived in NC…the coming snow and how everyone was freaking out about it…to the extent that both parties I was due to attend were possibly to be canceled. I am from Canada so even if the population there is very unaccustomed to snow I had a huge problem  sympathizing. The governor actually declared it a State of Emergency!!!!! I think I saw finally at most 3-4 inches accumulated. That is a flurry for me. But when in Rome….I did my best to smile and go with the flow.

But in the end nothing got canceled. Friday night a party was thrown in my honor at a Femdom dungeon called FAD…although the party was not a Femdom party as usual, just rented for me that night. An online friend, Nev, living in NC organized it for me and it was so wonderful to meet her in real life. During evening I also met rich. Mel had matched us up months ago on Fetlife in hopes that she would secure me an interesting sub to play with while there. rich and I had on/off communication and there was good potential. I did play with him that night and it was a very pleasant scene. he is not very experienced but seemed eager in his ignorance of what he liked or did not. Although he said CBT was something he enjoyed and I love CBT! he got quite a beating in the end, I got quite an interested crowd watching and fun was had by all.After our session he offered himself at my disposition 24hrs a day till my departure and also offered to drive us all to La Fortress the next day, the dungeon where I was to give my Cell Popping workshop. A sweet offer I gladly accepted since by now the snow was falling, La Fortress is normally a good 1hours drive and he claimed experience in bad driving weather conditions.

Saturday rich picked us up at 2 pm and we got there shortly before 4pm…the time I was due to start. I also never saw so many cars in ditches along the highway. Had it been nice it would have been a record attendance with 80 people signed up. But since it was the end of the world about 20 showed up…which is more then the normal monthly workshop. We even started an hour late as guest on their way called to say they were in a ditch but asked if we would wait lol. For the evening portion of the party about 35 people were present in total and as it was decided the day about 20 slept over as to not have to drive on the snow covered roads.  So it turned into a really fun slumber party and they had prepared eggs, bacon, biscuits and coffee in the morning.

La Fortress is awesome. Its an entire dungeon house in a country setting. The kitchen and living room are common grounds to socialize without play. The basement is a huge dungeon with about 10 stations. There is also a big medical room on the first floor and another play room and an attic. The workshop went really well and the demo was awesome too with my ’stunt-bottom’ being none other then Nefarious, Mr SouthEast Leatherfest 2009. I got lots of great feedback and 2 sessions in the evening involved Cell Popping. it was an honor to see people wanting to incorporate it into their play.

A bit later I did my 1st of 2 scenes that night with rich…a bondage scene with a bit of CBT, spanking, flogging and a wonderful mindfuck opportunity. We later had a 2nd scene too and I was just pleased by how well we played together and I just loved the submissive energy he was feeding me. The second scene involved him being tied to a padded ladder. At the end he came off the ladder shaking like a leaf. he said he could not remember the last time he had felt such an adrenaline rush. he may be new but has pain slut potential. I also incorporated a cell popping into our session. I wanted him to remember me for a while so I marked him with my initials on his hip. But this time we definitely had started to really feel a mutual connection. it was really nice having someone there with me, genuinely serving me, rather then a sub making an effort to please the visiting Mistress.

I asked rich to spend Sunday with me to give a bit of a break to my host who was by my side for 3 days now. he then took me on a drive through the country and the capital, Raleigh. I also asked to see the ghetto area as we just don’t have such ‘defined’ spots so much in Canada. Sure we have neighborhoods that tend to attract a larger number of particular ethnics but its not the same. Here its still has that old South flavor to it. It was not so bad and we did come across a spiffed up old police  car with a young dude in it. I got a pic and the driver saw me he was laughing and smiling. probably thought I liked his car when I was actually taking a ‘ghetto car’ pic.

After we went back to his place so he could shower before dinner. I picked his clothes, inspected the marks after 3 play sessions (lovely!) with Me and he showed me his gun collection as pr my request! GUNS…omg! Again, Canada is not a gun country. Sure people have them but you are not allowed to carry one on your person while walking down the street (legally). And honestly the majority do not own them. I have never been around guns. So I had to take a pic of  me with some of his guns.

We went out for dinner to a more traditional NC food place. I ordered a local wine and had chicken and dumplings (yummy). he ordered side dishes for me to try: pulled pork appetizer (excellent), creamy grits (not bad with the cheese), collard greens (meh, was OK) and corn bread (yummy) with Pot Liquor (gross). What is Pot Liquor you ask? It’s the liquid that is left behind after boiling vegetable greens and meat. rich told me as a kid this stuff was usually thrown out in the woods behind their house and no one would EVER consider ordering it, he found it funny to see that on the menu.

Sunday was a precious day spent in great company. It really made the trip. A note one play and the scene there. Fetish is non existent there…its just BDSM and they take it safely and seriously…they play a hell of a lot harder too in public. I am talk real sadism and blood play and all but completely done in a safe way. Honestly I liked it better then the current Montreal scene which is going towards fashionable fetish parties and pure BDSM night are getting more and more scarce. I hope to take what I learned on this level in NC and do my best to help Montreal find a more solid BDSM root again.

I am back from my cell popping workshop at La Fortress in North Carolina.

What a fun and eventful trip! And the workshop almost did not happen as it snowed there and they FREAK OUT when there is snow. From a Canadian’s perspective its a little weird even though I get the driving is an issue if you are not accustomed or equipped. At noon the day of Seeker, owner of la Fortress, sent out an email:

Lady Evyl is laughing at us saying  this weather is no big deal…she’s  from Canada… sooooooooo The  social is on…. Please be careful… don’t want anyone hurt… don’t drive fast  or make any sudden moves… Be prepared to spend the night just in case…I am  taking some eggs and bacon..got coffee there… If you think you can make  it….come on.

Yep the workshop was delayed 1hour as we waited for the arrival of attendees to get help to get out of a ditch. Yep it was a sleep over to and so much fun. Will be back with blogs and pics soon as I catch my breath!

I am so excited. My trip to Raleigh NC for a Cell Popping demo is actually just around the corner. We planned it like 6 months ago so I thought the time would never come. But low and behold it is 7 days away! I leave Thur the 28th and wil be there 4 days.

Yes that is right it was the Body Modification Night at that Loft I co-organized! Its also about that time my websites went offline for about a week while I changed from one god awful scummy hosting company to a good one (where I know the owner too, bonus). So I got back online, was backlogged on blogs, etc. I knew this one would be bigger so I kept putting it off till I had more time. Ring a bell? Yep I never got around to it till now. No more procrastinating!

I’ll do my best to relive that night even if my memory of it has faded a bit. Pat Pierce and Yanick Bleau of Excentric.ca accepted my invitation to participate in a Body Modification Night at the Loft with JeePee and Sirena. Unfortunately this coming Saturday night is the last Loft night as they will close there doors (but rumors of projects in the spring are running).

This was a night dedicated to piercing, branding, cutting and cell popping. the set up of this event was massive. We had to get there quite early to set up all the work spaces and make sure everything remained as sterile as possible.  Once that was done piercings were under way. Obviously that was the popular request of the night as the other mods are either less known or more permanent. Nipples, micro dermals, ears, Guiche stretching and more got pierced.  I did do 2 cell poppings. But we still had a demo for everything.

Oh did we ever have a demo. The show went on at around midnight on the main stage. Being done all at once were branding, cutting and cell popping. The recipient of the branding and cutting was Sirena, a courageous gal. The design represents kind of wings on the shoulders, each one done in a different scarification technique. I had Sirena sit on a spanking horse and tied down her hips and legs to prevent movement. Liquid Raspberry recived my cell popping (she is my muse for that) so I had her sit in front of Sirena. I bound both there hand together and hoisted them up to the ceiling. Pat, Yan and I took our spots and got to work in front of the crowds. I was done way before and the girl’s arms were getting tired. Liquid Raspberry took leave and I stayed to help Sirena work through the pain she was enduring. It was tough for her. But we sometimes enjoy sensual ice games together so that is what I did and talked her through it. Of course the best (gross) part is I literally was inhaling the fumes from the branding. OH MY GOD….it smells. And I was inhaling smoke particles of my friend’s body.

It was a coincidence that at the stroke of midnight, the 8th, was Mistress Jade Dragon’s birthday! She got her ears pierced that night and I believe it was her first piercing ever 9or in a really long time). She was understandably nervous…us Dommes are not fond of receiving pain. She she got her ears done bravely and to get her mind relaxed and settled again she offered some of the ladies present a henna design. She is a pro at it!. I got one as well as Liquid Raspberry. Thank you Jade!

A very special guest made a visit to our event as well. Pierre Black, owner of the mythical but now closed Black Sun Studio, and mentor of Pat Pierce, was present during this evening. Thank you Pierre for coming! Go check out Pierre Black’s site.

And finally, the pièce de résistance was sleepswthghosts (her nickname), a pervertly sick needle loving awesome gal, who got her LIPS SEWN SHUT. This was not make up job. This was the real deal. Maybe some people don’t find this intense but I am not crazy about needles so I was panicked a bit at witnessing this. Well the thought of it. But once it happened I was completely mesmerized and right next to her watching the whole time. Now I want to learn to play with needles. Sticking others is fine, just not me.

Pat Pierce had her lay down and with a suture kit began sewing her lips shut after all the markings were done. The needle had a slight curve to it, like a rug needle a bit. It was the coolest thing ever.

Sleepswthghosts said she kept it only a few hours till going to bed since she was a bit worried of sleeping this way. Obviously this is a temporary play, not a permanent piercing. She was really awesome (and cute as a button).

Finally we wrapped up the night around 5 am when all the real customers were done. I was getting one but it was to late and I am not a regular customer (maybe a difficult one if you ask Pat Pierce lol). I did go back later that week to get mine. Yes you can see a pic… a tiny one though. I got my second nipple done.

Obviously we won’t be doing another event at this now almost closed location but I just loved the experience and loved to work with pat Pierce and Yan so any guys I am willing! I actually have location and party ideas.

This past Friday Dec 04th was my second time giving a workshop at Club Sin and well actually to the community as well. I decided to pick protocol as a subject. Not exactly the easiest one at all. I think this is the one term in our lifestyle so many people, specially newbies, have trouble wrapping their minds around.

.

There is just not a whole lot out there as a concrete description. God knows I researched the net…in the past for myself and recently for this workshop. Now Party Protocol and Public Scene Protocol texts abound. But its how do build a protocol within a union of two or more people that is so difficult. Sure you can come up with 10 rules to stick by but that is only a fraction of what a protocol is.

The best article I have found online are notes published from a talk Laura Antoniou gave back in 2000 entitled Establishing a Protocol.

.

For some reason, although I have not had a massive amount of experience in it, I just really get the concept of it. I am ultra organized, even in my disorders. I don’t think a whole lot of people are fully experienced in protocol because it is a) exhausting to be applying such rigid rules and b) hard to find a sub who can operate under such regimentation and scrutiny. Although I am sure many do manage to live a full protocol lifestyle it is not a majority. So no I am not full protocol. I do enjoy many aspects of it though and I like the ceremony behind it.

.

I have had subs were rules were much more strongly present in our dynamic then others. Right now I find myself in a more romantic circumstance with someone who is green to this lifestyle and probably more kinky then anything else. We do not have a protocol established. But we have a lot of fun.

.

This last comment is to say no matter what protocol you do decide upon its has to be rebuilt (partly) a new with every new person that enters your life on such a level.  Protocol cannot work without flexibility. My new beau sometimes asks me if I can be happy with him knowing he cannot be the ultimate sub I would like. I say as long as you are kinky in general I have no issues with it (and that he is find with my tacking out my sadistic needs on someone else lol).

If you cannot be somewhat flexible you will remain alone. Let me give you a vanilla example. If you say your future partner must want to be beaten to bruises every time, but kneel at all times, must never speak and be wet and ready 24hrs a day…its the equivalent of saying your vanilla better half must be blond, must be making so much a year, must want children and must never do overtime. Its just probably not ever going to happen. Sure certain things are really essential and you have to complete needs but give some of it a rest and widen your horizons or you may pass up a really amazing opportunity!
